Beauty Pie 2.0

Well hello, and welcome back to yet another Beauty Pie post. I know it may seem like I am banging on about this brand, but it really has so much to offer and at great affordable prices, it is kind of the only stuff I am using at the moment!

If you are unfamiliar with Beauty Pie and the way it works, then I wrote a pretty detailed post about the way it all works on a previous blog here, so do go and check that out if you haven't already.

My last post was also on the amazing skincare they have, so again, do head over there to read about that.

This post will be focussing on the makeup, and will be a kind of 'Get Ready With Me Post'

So once I used all my Beauty Pie Skincare, I used the Matte Retouch Pore Minimizing Primer £3.44 which is quite a creamy feel. It doesn't have the siliconey feel which I quite like in a primer, but it does add a little layer of smoothness to help makeup application. It isn't my favourite ever primer but I do like the way it soaks in like a moisturiser.

Next is the Great Skin Foundation, £5.06 which I have been most excited to use. I went for the shade Ivory because I am pale AF, and it suits my skin tone perfectly. I find the coverage very good however the staying power hadn't been working that well for me. At about midday I could see it starting to lift away from my skin and cling to drier bits of skin. Since changing to Beauty Pie skincare, I have seen a huge difference in the lasting power of my foundation, and now it lasts much longer and goes on much smoother.

Next is the Super Luminous Concealer £2.69 which I've had a rollercoaster relationship with. At first, I loved the idea of a built in sponge, and the luminizing formula really called out to me. I put it in my shopping basket and waited for it to arrive.

Trying it out, I found the sponge really really hard, and a bit painful to use when using it on the bony areas around my eyes. It didn't blend in well at all and I threw it down and grabbed my beauty blender.

After a few weeks I decided to give it another try, and the more I use it, the more the sponge softens and the better it works. It does take a little longer to blend than a usual sponge as it is so small, but I have to say I do really like the coverage it gives.

The formula has a tiny shimmer so it is great under the eyes to brighten but I wouldn't use it on any blemishes as it would highlight them. The coverage is really good and it makes me look much more awake. Final verdict: We like.

Once my base is done, I like to add definition and blush to my face. The Quantum Bronzer £2.87 is actually stunning, however the shimmery layer is only on the top of the pan and underneath is a matte product.

After bronzing, I use the Smart Powder Blush £2.77 in 'Peachy Dreams' for my cheeks which is really lovely and a great colour for paler skin as it adds a subtle wash of colour.

Moving on to eyes, I used Precision Eyeliner Marker £1.48 which is like a felt tip pen. I have to say I didn't get on with this very well, however I don't think anything will ever compare to my Gradiose Lancome Liner which is my favourite. I did actually like it better the second time I used it but there is quite a large range of eye liners on the website so I may have to try a different texture next time!

One eye product I am a huge fan of though, is the Radical Lash Super Volumizing Mascara £1.98 which does crazy things to my lashes in a matter of seconds! It is really long lasting and adds incredible volume and length to my lashes.
Scuse the brows, they're overdue a pluck

Next is the Pro Glow Highlighter in the shade Cosmic Shine, £5.46. This is the most instagrammable product ever! It looks absolutely gorgeous and like a marbled shimmer dream. I found the product quite hard to pick up at first, but similarly to the One Powder Wonder £3.76 which I reviewed in my previous makeup post, I have now started to wear it in (heartbreak because it looks too pretty to use) and I find I get good coverage with this.
It gives a subtle yet gorgeous finish to the areas you highlight.

I have also got this Triple Beauty Liquid Luminizer £2.53which I am yet to use.

Lastly,  I seal everything with the One Powder Wonder £3.76 to make it last that bit longer and blur my complexion.

To finish everything off we have lips and I have gone for this Future Lipstick in Bomb shell Pink £3.11 which is a great hot pink shade for the summer.

Side note: Anyone have any tips for these bumps on my cheeks?

And the final look...

I'll try and change up my posts but Beauty Pie is just so great it is hard to use anything else at the moment!

Beauty Pie Skincare

If you have been following me or reading my blog lately, then you will see that there is one brand predominantly taking over my feed at the moment. Beauty Pie is the new innovative creation by Marcia Kilgore, and if you want to read more about what it is, how it works, or why you should get involved, then read here

The latest addition to the membership service shop, is skincare! As a huge lover of skincare, I knew I wanted to continue my membership in order to reap the benefits of this amazing brand.
With high end products at an affordable cost price, I really don't see why you wouldn't want to get involved!

I waited until everything was in stock as I like to use a skincare range as opposed to just the one product here and there. I really do believe skin care ranges are designed to work together, so I like to commit to the whole collection so I see the full benefits.

Talking about them in the order I use them, the first product is the Double Phase Daily Deep Rinse Off Cleanser £4.92* which is a cream consistency and comes with a cloth. Whilst I don't like using cloths unless it is for a particularly balmy cleanser that leaves residue, the cloth is very soft material.

This cleanser smells of luxury and is a really lovely consistency. It smells of glamorous chocolate orange however I have to say it isn't fantastic at removing eye make up. I like something that gets the job done, but I feel I have to work this product a little harder. Nevertheless I think it is a really beautiful product.

Next is my absolute favourite product which is the Super Stem Cell Moisture Shot Serum £6.84* and oh my god this has changed my life. From the first use, I actually saw a dramatic improvement in my skins moisture levels, and I genuinely look forward to putting this on my face everyday. The consistency is almost like a primer, with a smoothing effect on the skin, but since using this my skin has been the best it has been for a while. 10/10 for this!

Next is the Super Healthy Skin Daily Moisture Lotion £5.73 and whilst this doesn't have the dramatic hydrating effects of the serum, it is still a lovely product to lock in that moisture. The smell is fairly plain and actually a bit like an E45 cream, but it isn't too thick and it soaks in really fast.

Lastly is the Plantastic Youth Guard Eye Cream £5.22 which is always out of stock on the website! It must be popular and I can see why, as this light eye cream is really hydrating and leaves a slight glow in the under eye area. It makes the area feel really comfortable and this little pot will last a life time!!

Jam Berry Nails

I love it when people approach me with ideas or products I can use on my blog.
A while ago, my boyfriends mum said she knew someone who had an opportunity to do with nails! I jumped at the chance, and was connected with the lovely Leonie, who is a Jamberry Nail Wraps consultant.

She sent me a little sample wrap to try which I featured on my instagram a while ago, and told you to keep an eye out for something exciting... well this is the post I meant!

After trying out the little trial wrap, I bought some nail wraps through Leonie which I think are going to be great for summer.

Each pack comes with an alcohol wipe to remove oil from the nail, and a little cuticle stick.
I went for a cute pineapple design and some gingham patterns as I am still obsessed with this trend!

The wraps come in all different sizes so you can line them up to the nail you think it will fit best.
You then cut the wrap in half so you have one for the same nail on each hand.

Using the wipe you remove the oils, and then peel back the plastic layer on the wrap to expose the sticky side.

You then warm this up (I use my hair dryer) for 3 seconds so the wrap becomes soft, and then lightly stick the wrap to the base of the nail. Try avoiding the cuticle as it will lift and the wrap won't last as long.

Once the wrap is in place, push from the base of the nail up, so all air bubbles will leave through the top of the nail and no folds are created.

Once they're on, you just need to trim and file down the rough edge in a downward motion to seal it.

And voila, fun and exciting nail art done without waiting for paint to dry.

These little wraps are so much fun, and they're a great alternative for someone who doesn't have time to create their own fun nail patterns. The wraps also come in plain colours if you want a more classic look.

They are also good if you are a nail biter, as these cover the nail making it harder to nibble, and for someone whose nails peel (mine do a lot!) the temptation to peel them is gone as they are protected and looking fabulous. The wraps usually last up to week or over, so if you're going away and want to avoid chipping, these are another great option.

Each sheet costs £15, and they will last you ages. Nail wraps can also be used on the toes if you fancy a fun design for your feet.

Mac Lipstick X Infulencers

I am always a bit of a sucker for a Mac collaboration, and this infulencer collab wasn't going to be one I was going to miss!
The two incredible women Mac collaborated with are blogger and YouTuber Fleur de Force, and Glamour's very own beauty director Alessandra Steinherr.
These two women are absolutely bossing the beauty world at the moment, so who better to have their very own lipstick??

Whilst I never used to be a nude lipstick lover, recently it it the only thing I'm wearing.
The Fleur and Alessandra lipsticks are both nude shades, Fleur's being a browner nude, and Alessandra's a pinkier shade.

Alessandra

Alessandra has turned the role of journalist, to celebrity. Whilst you never used to see the face behind the story, social media has allowed us to meet journalists and hear what they really think. Alex's Instagram is my go to when ever I want to see the newest products before they hit the shelves, and her insta-stories of facial routine are informative and enchanting.

Alessandra's lipstick is the staple beauty editor nude.

Fleur

Like many bloggers and vloggers, Fleur has had her fair share of success. With a published book of her makeup tips and tricks, 'The Glam Guide', and her own range of Eyelure lashes, Fleur is one of the most recognised bloggers in the world. She attracts up to 4-6 million views a month, and this is constantly growing.

Fleur's shade is the perfect bronzey nude for summer.

So those are the swatches of each lipstick so you can choose your favourite...or like me, just get both! (they are both £16.50 each in case you do). I thought I would favour the Alessandra lipstick due to my fair complexion, but I have actually found myself reaching for Fleur's more tan colour. Both are really creamy with a shiny finish, and I love wearing them.

If this doesn't scream girl power, and the hope of achieving the unimaginable from behind a computer screen, then I don't know what does!
