Recent Shopping Haul

I haven't done a post on any products recently so thought I would show you some of the things I have been buying recently.

This colour is from the Jessica limited edition collection and is a very lary green which I love! I thought it would be perfect for Halloween so bought it the other day. The Jessica polishes are £9.75 but I think I will get a lot of use out of this colour!

This lip balm is a wonderous little product from Dior. 'Lip Glow' cleverly adapts itself to your lips, to make them look a more natural brighter redder colour, to a shade that would suit your skin. It does add a lovely colour and a slight gloss but doesn't have any of the stickiness of a gloss. It is also highly moisturising! It is around £22.00.

I have had my eye on the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Mascara for a very long time. I haven't heard the best stories about this mascara, such as its lasting power and that it dries up quite quickly, but I was desperate to try it. The reason? Because my favourite model of the moment Cara Delivigne is the face of this mascara. I wish this was not the reason I spent £24.00 on a mascara that I've been told not to buy, but it really is. I will do a follow up post to let you know how it goes!

I recently stocked up on my must have moisturiser for the winter. I have written about this moisturiser before (here), but I really must stress just how amazing it is! Once again at this time of year, the dreaded dry skin around my nose has returned. This is the ONLY moistursier that can reduce the redness and stop it being painful. I absolutely swear by this product and recommend it to anyone who has and skin problems or complaints. At £7.00 this is such a bargain and my life saver product.

This cuticle butter from Burt's Bees is really zesty smelling and lovely. It soaks into the skin quite quickly and isn't as messy as a cuticle oil. The bees wax helps to soften the cuticles and it has an fresh lemon scent. It's a great product to keep in your handbag as it comes in a handy tin. Considering I work for a nail brand, I would recommend this cuticle butter to everyone!

Eve Lom is famous for it's cleanser, and I understand why. This cleanser is the definition of luxury. At £55.00 for 100ml or £85.00 for 200ml, I haven't actually bought one, but got this brilliant sample. It's a very generous sample that comes with a sachet of about 3 uses of the cleanser and a muslin cloth. The cleanser turns into a oil when it reaches skin temperature and its melts away all the dirt and makeup you have on your face. The muslin cloth allows you to pat the cleanser into the skin and penetrate into the deeper layers of skin. Vogue has described it as the best cleanser in the world, and do you know what? I think I agree.

Dead Sea Spa

Today I will be doing another review from the Dead Sea Spa range. If you read my blog then you will know I am a huge fan of this company. To read about my top 3 products then please click here. Now onto the hair care!

Dead Sea Spa Shampoo and Magic Serum

This shampoo is best used for irritated scalps that cannot take perfumes from usual shampoos. It alleviates dandruff, revitalises damaged hair and normalises oil and moisture balance. This shampoo actually left my hair feeling quite dry and a bit knotty. It smelt really lovely and it didn't fade my dyed brown hair which I was worried it would, and it just lathered slightly unlike a normal shampoo due to it not having any foaming agents. I think the reason it left my hair feeling so dry was because it actually gave my hair a really good clean! And I think it felt so dry because it had just taken away all the residue of any products used in it.

The real success of this shampoo is when used with the very aptly named, magic hair serum. It has been voted 'best conditioner' by woman magazine for its anti-frizz and hydrating properties. It advises to wring any water from hair before you apply, and to massage in from roots to tips. It advises putting a towel or cling film around for 2-5 minutes to really concentrate the serum. I personally just rolled my hair up tightly and left it on whilst I washed my body. After the drying effect of the shampoo, I was a bit sceptical about how well it would condition my hair. I have really thick, frizzy, dry hair that needs about a big handful of conditioner every time! I was very happy with the results from the serum. It felt really soft and I couldn't stop running my hands through it. It sounds strange but it also made my hair feel thinner, like it had got rid of the frizz and like didn't have loads of product in it, just really fresh and free flowing. It claims to add balance and shine, and to saturate every strand of hair with minerals and vitamin B5 for added shine. It can also be used on dry hair to style and to promote extra shine, and it great for de-tangling (good for kids too as it is natural). I really liked it and would probably use it again as it is only £16.60.

Dead Sea Spa

I have been really excited about reviewing this brand, because I absolutely love it! I will give you a little background history on the company before I review the actual products, so you can see why I love them so much.

SO... Dead Sea Spa is a family business which started in 1998, and so is still a relatively young company. It is a company based in Goudhurst in Kent which is close to where I live, so think that could contribute as to why I have a little soft spot for it! The company also claim to be a friendly company which I can vouch for, as the representatives I have dealt with, have always been so funny and lovely, and have a real passion for the products. Dead Sea Spa products are fantastic for problematic skin such as eczema and psoriasis, as well as being a real luxury.

As you may or may not know, the dead sea lies between Israel and Jordan and is 8.6 saltier than the ocean. It attracts tourists from all over the world due to its effects on skin, as you can lie on the water as it is so dense from the salt concentration. Not only that, it is 423 meteres below sea and is therefore the lowest elevation on earth, which is why it contains all the amazing minerals that they put in their products. The Dead Sea Spa believe that the quickest way to put minerals into the body is by doing so through your skin. All the ingredients are natural so by feeding your skin these minerals, you are also helping yourself on the inside. Now the science-y bit is over, I will now tell you my top 3 dead sea spa products!

Number 3 - Cleansing wash/ soap

The cleansers are a easy to use solution for cleansing. I have also given this to my boyfriend to use, and his skin has become visibly clearer and his pores tightened. It is perfect for blackheads and other spot problems, and it is also good to note that it is a unisex brand! It smells really clean and fresh rather than flowery, and leaves skin feeling clean and revitalised! Personally, my skin feels slightly tight after use but it is nothing that my number 1 product can't help.

Number 2 - Salt Brushing

Once you have used this salt brushing, you will never use another body exfoliator. Applied to dry skin, the salt rubs away dead skin and leaves an oily layer that makes you skin feel amazing! It is like you have brand new skin. Again, the smell is fresh and spa like, and feels like a real luxury product. I should note for health and safety though, that as it is an oily product you should be careful when getting out the bath or shower, as it can be a bit slippery! Also not good to use before fake tanning as it is oil based, but otherwise, perfect!

Number 1  - Rich Moisturiser

This moisturiser is my savior. I suffer from slight eczema and a real dryness around my nose in winter, and have real trouble finding products that aren't too thick, but give me optimum moisture. Within a week of using this moisturiser, it had completely cleared up, and I haven't bought another moisturiser since. It is a fresh smelling moisturiser which also doubles up as a great makeup base as well. It absorbs really quickly and leaves your skin with a smooth primer finish. I would recommend this to everyone, and it is also only around £7.00 so really affordable!

The brand has won tons of awards and celebrities like Caprice and Victoria Beckham have praised the products! Not only are these products fantastic, they are so unbelievably affordable! You will have trouble finding something in their brand for more than £30.00. They have a solution for every skin type, and also have a hair care range as well. I will be reviewing more products from this range at a later date! If you like the sound of Dead Sea Spa, or want to have a look into some of their spas, then here is their website
